The other day I was reading through Mashable, one of my favourite websites to visit for some news about the technology world, and I stumbled upon a very interesting article. This article was about the “13 Children’s Book Quotes Every Adult Should Know”. I find this quite interesting as many people believe the stories told in children’s books are juvenile and only surface level issues arise, quickly being resolved in an often unrealistic way. But I think as adults we can find value in these tales, and especially some of the quotes said by a few of our favourite childhood characters. It can bring us back to our youth, back to the basics, and back to a general appreciation of life.

And here are some of these quotes:

“You’re BRAVER than you believe, and STRONGER than you seem, and SMARTER than you think.”
- A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh

“ ‘Real isn’t how you are made,’ said the Skin Horse. ‘It’s a thing that happens to you.’ “
- Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit

“His life was a book of his own writing, one orderly page after another.”
- William Joyce, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore

“NOTORIETY is often mistaken for fame.”
-Aesop, Aesop’s Fables

“But all the magic I have known. I’ve had to make myself.”
- Shel Silverstein, ‘Magic’ Where the Sidewalk Ends

“After all, what’s a life anyway? We’re born, we live a little while, we die.”
- E.B. White, Charlotte’s Web

“Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So…get on your way!”
- Dr. Seuss, Oh the Places You’ll Go!

“Think left and think right, think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!”
- Dr. Seuss, Oh the Thinks You Can Think

“The greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.”
- Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

“How much good inside a day? Depends how good you live ‘em.”
- Shel Silverstein, ‘How Many, How Much’, A Light in the Attic

This week, our venture through our Online Presence Blueprint continues. Personally, I have found some months more useful then others, which every business is going to find. However, I do believe that every aspect of our Online Presence is very important to how we portray ourselves online and how others view us.

This month we are going to focus on a topic who's importance has been debated as of lately, email communication. Some say it is becoming obsolete, but I truly believe it is still VERY important. Everyone checks their emails and are on the alert for deals. Email marketing can still be very useful....if done right.

Month 7: Email Communication

Email Communication is important for your business and here are some reasons why:
- it promotes your content system with curated email content
- it can find ways to repurpose content into video/audio/eBooks/articles
- you can build a reverse email campaign that can help promote your business

However, for it to work properly you may want to consider:
- creating email-based training for your internal staff
- continuously cleaning up your email list with routine purging to ensure you are reaching the right audience

Whether it's listening to your audience, building your content foundation, making your products sharable, creating a point of view eBook, focusing on your content delivery, creating landing pages or focusing on your email communication, it's all important to your marketing campaign. Paying attention to each of these steps and making sure you and your staff are familiar with the best ways to utilize these tools will all help promote your online presence.
